1. Nightmare before Christmas
The movie is tells about a legend of Skellington who is depicted as the king of Halloween and moves from town to town each year to stage the Halloween shows. He is now tired of doing all this and finds his way to the Christmas town where he decides to do something awkward. Skellington tries to try his head instead of a pumpkin which scares the townsfolk who are there at the event. The songs of the movie are stunning and they remain in the head even days after. The unofficial song of the movie is “This is Halloween” and this makes it one of the best Christmas moves as well. The overall appearance and the outfit of the characters have been chosen in a most professional manner which also makes it a master piece to watch other than Halloween.

2. Coraline
The movie is based on Neil Gaiman’s popular novel of the same name. It is a movie that is a gift for all “Alice in the Wonderland” fans but the only difference is that it is lot creepier. The heroine unhappy about the new neighborhood finds a door in the house which is actually a passage to the other dimension. Here she finds different wonders and also meets her real parents. Thing start to uncover and it is finally revealed that the new world is not as easy as it seems. Coraline is now stuck badly and she could go to any extend to save herself and her family. The epic event creation and the state of the art direction make this movie worth watching and it is not just confined to kids alone.

3. The legend of Sleepy hollow
Don’t get confused with the title. There are no headless monsters, slashing throats or blood pouring out of the bodies. The movie is mild and can be viewed by the kids without any issue. The gruesomeness of the movies of similar genre is not present here to scare the kids or to disturb them emotionally. The movie is based on a story of a school teacher who carries out this gallant act just to make sure that he wins the love of a pretty girl. Old is gold and this has been proven in this movie, the mildness of the movie doesn’t even require parental guidance and it could be watched by the kids even when they are alone making it one of the best films on this list.

4. Hocus Pocus
With epic direction and cutting edge technology this flick is definitely a masterpiece for all the kids of recommended age. The kids are known to create mischief but sometimes this leads to unexpected turn of events that would make an outstanding story. A little boy who has been left behind to look after his sister unknowingly unleashes three witches from Salem. These witches are notorious for sucking youth of little girls to keep their magic. The boy has to save not only his sister but also the entire town to make peace and how he does that forms the rest of the story. The movie was the greatest hit of its time and children still remember the scene of the party with the sisters saying that they would caste spell on all of those present.

5. Corpse Bride
Known as Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride it is a 2005 horror musical animated movie that has received highly positive reviews from the critics. Victor van Dort accidently marries a dead bride and then taken to the land of dead. Victor is now very anxious to come out to the real world and would do anything to reunite with his fiancée in the real world exactly at the time of their wedding. The real entertainment lies in the fact that the voice of Victor Van Dort has been dubbed by Johnny Depp who is one of the most successful actors of all times. The level of the film can be imagined that it has been nominated for the Academy Awards for best Animated Feature.

6. Casper
The movie stars Casper a cartoon character which everyone of use knows very well. It is a short and adorable flick that makes the kids cry, not out of horror but when they see that Casper is lonely altogether. The movie deals with Casper finally finding a friend who loves him a lot and he is happy too. Things turn a twisted turn when Casper wants to bring himself back to life and all his plans fail. At the crux of the story lies the fact that a gentle ghost meets a beautiful girl whom he wants to keep as always. The movie has become icon over the period of time and it is this movie which made the character of Casper unforgettable.

7. The Witches
The film is based on the book of Raold Dahl of the same name. Luke the main character of the movie always listens to the stories of witches and female demons that are after children. The child has a very negative view about the demons and witches. One evening while visiting the seaside Luke heard a conversation of witches who are planning to annihilate the children. Now it is up to Luke to save the children which becomes a daunting task when he becomes a mouse. A mixture of humor and chill this flick is highly recommended. Parental guidance is advice as some scenes are not suitable for children especially when the withes suddenly transform into their real appearances and this is the only scene that could fright the kids.

8. Pooh's Heffalump Halloween Movie
Well every kid likes and loves to watch Pooh but it is Halloween and Pooh along with his friends is at a farm. It is time for little kids to have fun that they would remember throughout their life. It is one of the best flicks that would keep them intact till the epilogue. The best part of the movie is that it is sweet rather than scary and therefore this idea makes it suitable for the children that are too young. Here Pooh eats all the candy as usual so his friends Roo and Lumpy go out to look for the Goblin who grants wishes as they all want to have more candies. For preschool kids this flick is one of the best ways to get entertained as the direction and the heart of film are too easy to understand.

9. Its great Pumpkin Charlie Brown
Sweetness is something which this film depicts in the best manner. Linus Van Pelt writes annual letter to the great pumpkin even without the acknowledgement of Charlie brown. He hopes that this year the great pumpkin would roll in to give him a treat. The friends go out door to door asking for candies and Linus only get rocks due to the fact that there are too many holes in his costume. His friends ridicule him and laugh at him but he refuses to go to the Halloween party and prefers waiting for the great pumpkin. During the course of the movie he also convinces his friends that the great pumpkin do exist and they all ask him to wait for his arrival and tells him the wishes but the great pumpkin never comes. Charlie Brown makes fun of him and Linus leaves the room saying that hi dream would come true next year for sure.

10. Beetle Juice
Barbara and Adam, both husband and wife die in a car crash. They are now stuck in their home scaring the neighborhood. The house is then bought by a new family and the ghosts try everything to scare them out but all in vain. Their efforts attract the attention of Beetle Juice who is somewhat a dangerous existence and wants to help them to get their home back. At first they accept the helping hand but soon they realize that it was the greatest mistake that they had made because this help poses a serious threat to the family living there. Lydia the young one is especially affected by the happenings and now Barbara and Adam are after Beetle Juice to stop him.
